Job description

SEN Teacher – September 2026 Start

Location: Farnborough and surrounding areas (including Aldershot, Fleet, Camberley, Yateley, and Farnham)

Primary and secondary SEN schools and specialist provisions across Farnborough and the surrounding area are seeking dedicated and compassionate teachers to join their teams on a permanent basis from September 2026.

These opportunities are ideal for teachers looking to become part of a supportive school community, build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs. About the Pupils

As an SEN Teacher, you may support pupils who:

  • Have autism spectrum conditions and associated communication or sensory needs

  • Have moderate or severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)

  • Have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN)

  • Have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, including behaviours that require consistent and positive support

  • Require additional support with social interaction and emotional regulation

  • Experience cognitive delays affecting learning and information processing

  • Benefit from structured routines, sensory strategies, and predictable learning environments

  • Experience anxiety around change, transitions, or unfamiliar situations

A calm, patient, and nurturing approach is essential to help pupils develop confidence, independence, and achieve their individual potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs

  • Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and wider school staff

  • Use a range of communication strategies, visual supports, and sensory approaches

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where appropriate

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

  • Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive strategies

  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, reports, and wider school life

  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice at all times

Key Details

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (part-time opportunities may be available in some schools)

Salary: MPS/UPS, with SEN Allowance where applicable

Location: Farnborough and surrounding areas, including Aldershot, Fleet, Camberley, Yateley, and Farnham

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

  • The right to work in the UK
