Year 7 SEN Teacher Needed!
Location: Fakenham
Age Range: 5–16 years
Start Date: 3 September 2026
Days: Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and committed SEN Teacher to join a welcoming special school on a temporary basis, supporting a Year 7 class from 3 September to 2 October 2026.
The school caters for students aged 5–16 with Communication and Interaction difficulties, and the successful candidate will play an important role in creating a supportive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
A valid UK driving licence is essential for this role. Applicants must also hold an Enhanced DBS (Children’s Barred List) registered on the Update Service to enable a faster application process.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Teaching and supporting a Year 7 class throughout the school day.
- Planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons appropriate to individual needs.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Supporting students with communication and interaction difficulties.
- Working closely with teaching assistants and other members of staff.
- Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet a range of individual learning needs.
- Contributing to a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who is:
- Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic.
- Confident working with students with additional needs.
- Able to adapt lessons and communication styles to meet individual needs.
- Calm and consistent when supporting students with behavioural or communication challenges.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Committed to helping every student achieve their potential.
Experience within a special school or with pupils with Communication and Interaction difficulties would be highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from teachers with strong mainstream experience and a genuine interest in SEND.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
