Job description

We are currently seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to work at one of our local school’s in Christchurch. The school is a specialist Autism (ASC) school that cater for both primary and secondary pupils. The pupils will have a primary diagnosis of Autism but may have additional needs.

The school are looking for a teacher to work until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the placement to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school are hoping to have someone start prior to the Easter half term but this will dependant on vetting checks being successful in time but may be pushed back to an April start.

Planning and prepping will be required and pay will be in-line with MPS

To be successful in this role it is desirable if you:

  • Have QTS – ECT/NQT are also encouraged to apply.
  • Have experience working within a school setting 
  • Have experience working with children and/or adults with SEN
  • Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, or a willingness to learn
  • Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Teacher in an alternative provision
  • Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional and personal wellbeing

The successful candidate must:

  • Be nurturing and enthusiastic
  • Be resilient and positive
  • Be confident working with challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
