The School
The school is a maintained Special School for Pupils who are High Functioning and have a Diagnosis of ASC. It caters for pupils aged between 10 and 14 in its first year, who are of average or above average cognitive ability, with a diagnosis of high functioning autism often with language and communication difficulties.
The Role
This role is for a full time KS1 Teacher. As the school holds a very high standard of teaching; a QTS/PGCE will be desirable however good experience is also acceptable. The position is ideal for an established teacher seeking a new role.
Requirements
Ideally hold a QTS/PGCE certificate.
In depth knowledge of KS1 curriculum
Endless enthusiasm and patience
Experience working with students who display challenging behaviour
Have some experience working with young people with SEMH
Flexible and adaptable to be able to differentiate effectively to provide an inclusive education for all
Driven to improve the quality of teaching across the entire department and can effectively contribute to the continual professional development of their colleagues on inset days as well as being pro active about their own CPD
Is a teacher who is inspiring to students and staff alike and can positively generate a love for the subject demonstrating the value of the subject and skills developed in the real world
