SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster
Hours: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs across schools in South Yorkshire, with opportunities to work in Sheffiled, Rotherham, Barnsley & Doncastser 

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties
  • Support pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them reach their full potential
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support strategies
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based experience preferred)
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel to schools across Doncaster, Rotherham, and Barnsley
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
