Teaching Personnel are currently working with an all age (2-19) specialist school in Castleford, recently rated 'GOOD' by Ofsted.

The school are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full time basis. You will be working under the instruction of class teachers to provide support to pupils with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. A number of the pupils are non/pre verbal and may use alternative means of communication such as PECs or Makaton so training in either or both of these is essential. You must have experience of developing and implementing Education, Health and Care Plans for pupils with SEN and be able to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team including Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Medical professionals and Occupational Therapists.

The school is extremely accessible from the M62 and A1 and has a regular bus services from Leeds and Wakefield running every 10-15 minutes, with a stop just a few minutes' walk from the school gates.

  • A commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs to access a differentiated curriculum
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Experience of or a willingness to provide personal care

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a number of leading and nationally recognised CPD Providers such as, Leeds Trinity University and Team Teach to deliver training in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Holistic Behaviour Management, Assessment for Learning, Interview Techniques and Safeguarding.
