SEN Support Assistant

Sensory Support Assistant required to work with PMLD students in specialist provision in North Yorkshire

A specialist provision in Knaresborough are looking to appoint an experienced Sensory Support Worker to join their successful and friendly team. This will be a part-time role (Mon-Weds, term time only), commencing September 2020.

The school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with complex physical and sensory impairments. It will be your role to support pupils to access a highly bespoke and tailored curriculum. You must have experience of supporting young people or adults with physical disabilities and/or additional needs. You will be comfortable providing personal care and ideally will possess a Moving and Handling certificate (although this training can be provided).

It is essential that you have knowledge and understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and the ability to differentiate and adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs. You will have a holistic and person centred approach and the flexibility to address and respond to social, emotional and personal needs.

You will have excellent communication skills and the desire to improve learning experiences for those with additional needs in a specialist setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
