SEN School requires Primary Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel work closely with a Preston based SEN School which caters for Primary aged pupils who have special educational needs, which include Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, PMLD and some Physical Disabilities. The School caters for pupils aged 5-11 years old.

The candidate must be hard working, have experience supporting pupils with SEN and pupils who may often display challenging behaviours through their own frustrations. The candidate MUST be willing to provide personal care for pupils when required and be willing to work on a 1:1 and small group basis.

A basic day would look like:

- Changing and feeding the pupils first thing

- Singing and signing welcome songs (BSL sign language not essential but ideal)

- Supporting pupils through 2 structured lessons in Maths and English

- Lunch and supervised play time (this is when you will also take a half an hour break)

- Changing, feeding and playing with the pupils following lunch

- Supporting pupils through 2 more lessons in the afternoon

- Goodbye songs and home time

The candidate MUST be enthusiastic, hard working, willing to engage with staff and pupils and happy to provide personal care.

The successful candidate will benefit from:

* A long term role starting after the Easter holidays

* Negotiable pay rates £9-10 per hour

* Rewarding position supporting pupils with SEN

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
