Job description

Our client school in Chorley are seeking Support Workers to work alongside their young people, aged 6-19, from September. The school is designed to support young people with high-functioning autism, as well as those with complex autism and significant learning difficulties.

All students admitted have a Statement of Special Educational Needs and will have experienced difficulties within mainstream and local authority special schools. Many will have been excluded from previous schools or had problems at home because of their complex and challenging needs and behaviours.

The school is located in Chorley and has excellent transport links and easy access to the M6, M61 and M65 motorways.

The school are ideally looking for candidates with experience in ASC, SEMH and significant learning difficulties. You MUST have experience to be considered for this role, due to the sensitive nature of the pupils. You will be empathetic and understanding with a positive, can-do attitude.

Due to the school having a number of positions advertised you will ideally be experienced across the Key Stages and be happy to provie personal care. Candidates with a Team Teach qualification are highly sought after, as are those with experience in PECS, Makaton or Speech and Language.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
