Learning Support Practitioner (SEN Primary)
Trafford | Full-Time | Term-Time Only
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
Start Date: September 2026
Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic Learning Support Practitioner to join a welcoming SEN primary school in the Trafford area. The provision supports children with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and other additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group support to pupils across the primary age range.
- Assist children in accessing classroom activities and engaging positively with learning.
- Support the development of communication, social, emotional, and independence skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement personalised support strategies.
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
- Encourage positive behaviour and build pupils' confidence and self-esteem.
- Support children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and enrichment activities where required.
- Assist with personal care and welfare needs where appropriate.
- Contribute to monitoring progress and recording observations to support pupil development.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young learners.
- Confidence supporting children with additional learning, communication, and behavioural needs.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new strategies and approaches.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
- Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
