Classroom Support Assistant (SEN Secondary School)

Wigan Area | Full-Time | September Start

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN secondary school in the Wigan area. You will support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, and behavioural challenges, helping them to engage in education and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Implement individual learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Promote students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Build positive relationships and encourage independence.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting young people with SEN is essential.
  • Experience working with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
