SEN Teaching Assistant required for Primary School in Brent

  • £60+ per day, depending on experience
  • 'Good' Primary School with good transportation links and excellent facilities
  • Opportunities to develop and access to training courses

Do you have experience supporting Special Educational Needs children? Are you looking for an exciting new challenge that involves working on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis with children who have a range of complex needs such as; Autism, Down-Syndrome, Non-Verbal Communications, Global Learning Delay, ADHD, Hearing Impairments and SEMH.

Teaching Personnel are recruiting 4 x SEN Teaching assistants on the behalf of a 'Good' Primary school in Wembley.

About the Role

This position begins in September and includes:

*Supporting new children on a 1:1 basis starting in Reception with complex needs

*Assisting the classroom teacher with the preparations of classroom activities

*Preparing the learning materials

*Helping children understand instructions

*Carrying out a child's care plan (education, social, behaviour and personal)

*Encouraging children to communicate

*Giving information and help to teachers

*Supporting children during social activities and outings

*Helping children during therapy sessions

*Recognising when children are upset and comforting them

Please apply if:

*You have a minimum of 6months experience supporting children with complex needs

*You have clear accurate spoken and written English, with good use of grammar

*You have the ability to adjust planning, learning activities and teaching programmes to take account of pupils needs and responses

*You have a good understanding of what helps children to be a successful learner

*You have the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues

*You have the ability to understand and use a range of strategies to support positive behaviour and attitudes
