Job description

Part-Time SEN English Teacher – Horley (ASAP Start)

A specialist secondary school in Horley is seeking a confident and engaging part-time SEN English teacher to deliver KS2/KS3 English to students with SEMH needs. This is a long-term opportunity where you will work closely with the Head of English to support students who require additional structure, encouragement and consistency in their learning.

The role involves teaching small groups of students who may present social, emotional and behavioural challenges, so the school is looking for someone who can build strong relationships, maintain clear boundaries and create a positive learning environment.

Key Details:

  • Part-time, long-term role – Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  • Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm

  • Start: ASAP

  • Delivering KS2/KS3 English in a specialist setting

  • Working with students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges

  • No planning or preparation required

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be confident delivering English lessons at KS2/KS3 level

  • Have experience working with SEN or SEMH students (desirable)

  • Be resilient, patient and able to build positive relationships with learners

  • Be comfortable managing behaviour and supporting students with additional needs

QTS is not required, making this role suitable for experienced instructors, tutors, or teachers with a strong English background and experience in SEN or alternative provisions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
