English Teacher – Alternative Provision (Secondary)

September Start | Worthing, Lancing & Crawley | Pay to Scale

Are you a passionate and resilient English Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives?

We are recruiting for dedicated English Teachers to join a supportive Alternative Provision setting from September, working with secondary-aged pupils who require a more personalised and nurturing approach to education.

This is an opportunity to have a real impact on students who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education, helping them rebuild confidence, engagement, and a love for learning.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging English lessons to secondary pupils
  • Support students with a range of additional needs and SEMH challenges
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Build strong relationships that encourage progress both academically and personally
  • Work closely with pastoral and support teams to meet individual student needs

We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching experience
  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Experience within alternative provision, SEMH, PRU, or SEN settings is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
