Job description

Location: Pershore, WR10

Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our mainstream secondary partners in Pershore (WR10), specifically within their dedicated SEND Unit.

About the Role

You will work as part of a specialist team providing targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and Learning Difficulties. The SEND Unit offers a calm, structured base where pupils receive tailored interventions, emotional support and help accessing the wider curriculum.

Your role will involve supporting pupils both within the Unit and in mainstream lessons, helping them develop confidence, independence and the skills needed to succeed in a busy secondary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support within the SEND Unit and mainstream classrooms

  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs

  • Follow EHCPs, support plans and intervention programmes

  • Assist with communication, emotional regulation and social interaction

  • Use visual supports, structured routines and appropriate SEN strategies

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with the SEND team

  • Promote a calm, safe and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported

  • Support pupils during transitions, unstructured times and enrichment activities

  • Encourage independence, resilience and positive engagement with learning

About You

  • Passionate about supporting young people with SEND

  • Calm, patient and able to maintain a supportive presence

  • Strong communicator who builds positive, trusting relationships

  • Proactive, adaptable and confident working across different settings

  • Emotionally resilient and reflective in your practice

Requirements

  • Willing to complete a DBS check or provide an updated certificate

  • Able to provide two references

  • Proof of right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
