Learning Support Assistant required to re-engage young people in Blackburn

  • Are you a confident individual looking to support young people in an alternative education setting?
  • Are you experienced in meeting the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people?
  • Are you able to create a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment?
  • Can you manage challenging and aggressive behaviours / languages appropriately?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions then this may be the role for you.

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a learning support assistant with experience in engaging disengaged young people with low self-esteem who may suffer with some anxiety and/or anger management difficulties. Your role will focus on providing the schools with an additional layer of supportive behaviour management. You will ideally have a background in working with young people or adults with challenging behaviour and have worked in educational or health and care settings.

You will be working either on a one-to-one basis or with small groups based on the pupils identified as needing support in this area. The length of the assignment will be dependent on the development of the child/children and will be judged on their improved confidence, engagement and positive outlook. Essentially this will be determined by the school but we have a number of long-term opportunities available, which have led to permanent jobs for many!

If you would like to register with Teaching Personnel and apply for this role or similar jobs in your local area then we would love to hear from you. To apply please contact Keeley at the Preston Branch on 01772 842155 or email your CV and covering letter
