1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD) – Year 2
Location: Blackburn
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a caring, patient and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role involves providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom, helping the child to access learning, develop social skills, and engage positively with school life.

Hours:

• 3 full days and 2 half days per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to meet the child’s individual needs

• Support learning activities within the classroom and during transitions

• Assist with social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies

• Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children in a classroom setting (essential)

• Experience working with children with ASD or additional needs (desirable)

• A calm, nurturing approach and strong communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
