Job Title: SEMH Tutor (Primary & Secondary) – Reading
Location: Reading (Flexible/Remote options may be considered)
Pay: £20 - £30 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Tutor to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, including anxiety, low confidence, and Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA). This role involves working with both primary and secondary level students, so a range of experience is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:

Assess individual student needs and develop tailored schemes of work

Plan and deliver personalised tutoring sessions focused on SEMH support

Build positive relationships to foster student confidence and emotional well-being

Adapt teaching strategies to suit varying student requirements and learning styles

Monitor progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
What We’re Looking For:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a minimum of 3 years’ tutoring experience
-
Proven experience supporting students with SEMH needs, including anxiety, low confidence, and EBSA
-
Ability to work with students across both primary and secondary education levels

Strong assessment, planning, and delivery skills for tailored educational programmes
-
Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
