About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SEMH Tutor from any subject background to provide personalised, impactful support to students in Newbury. You will work with young people facing a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges; including anxiety, dyslexia, and low self-esteem, helping them realise their strengths and achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities:
- Assessing individual needs and designing tailored schemes of work
- Planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons
- Creating a safe, nurturing environment where students feel listened to and valued
- Building trusting relationships that foster academic and emotional growth
- Monitoring progress and adapting strategies for maximum impact
- Liaising with families, schools, and professionals to support holistic progress
About You
You are a patient, empathetic educator who can:
- Assess, plan, and deliver bespoke lessons for a range of SEMH needs
- Demonstrate experience supporting students with anxiety, dyslexia, and low self-esteem
- Adapt your teaching style to suit individual learners
- Communicate with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
- Champion every student’s confidence and resilience
You must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a minimum of 5 years’ teaching or tutoring experience. Enhanced DBS required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
