SEMH Tutor – Didcot (Primary & Secondary)

Location: Didcot (in-person tutoring)
Subjects: Maths & English (Primary and Secondary)
Hourly Rate: £20–£30 (based on experience)
Job Type: Flexible – Part-time or full-time opportunities available

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEMH Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition for students in Didcot. The role involves working with learners who face a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, including anxiety, low confidence, and low self-esteem.

Whether your background is in primary or secondary education, if you’re passionate about supporting young people to re-engage with learning in a calm, individualised setting, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored tuition in Maths and English across Key Stages 1–4

  • Assess student needs and design personalised schemes of work

  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment to support emotional wellbeing

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and behavioural needs

  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to support student development

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs

  • Confident teaching Maths and English at primary and/or secondary level

  • Ability to assess, plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons

  • Empathetic, patient, and consistent in approach

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
