Rate: £25 per hour

Are you an experienced tutor or fully qualified teacher with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
TP-Tutors is currently seeking a compassionate and experienced SEMH Tutor in the Bicester area to deliver one-to-one tuition in Maths and English to students who may be struggling with EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), anxiety, and low confidence.
About the Role:
You will be working with a student who is currently out of school and requires structured, nurturing, and engaging tuition to support both academic and emotional progress. Sessions will take place in person and will require someone confident in building trust and tailoring their approach to the individual needs of the learner.
We’re Looking For:

A Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT) or experienced tutor (minimum 3 years’ experience).

Strong knowledge of the primary and/or secondary Maths and English curriculum.

Proven experience working with students with SEMH, EBSA, and anxiety-related barriers to learning.

Ability to assess, plan, and deliver a personalised scheme of work.

A nurturing, patient, and consistent approach to building confidence and engagement.
Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition sessions in English and Maths.

Develop a tailored learning plan based on the student’s needs and starting points.

Create a positive and safe learning environment that promotes engagement.

Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.

Communicate effectively with parents/carers and report on the student’s development.
Pay:

£25 per hour, paid weekly.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
