SEMH Teaching Assistant Required for Primary School

Date posted : 15/09/18
£54 - £55 per day + Pension

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are working to support a village primary school who are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis, supporting a Year 6 pupil who has social and emotional needs, as well as some challenging behaviour.

The school is situated between Truro and St Austell - an approximate 10 - 15 minute drive from either location, or a 20 - 25 minute drive from Newquay. Due to the remote location of the school, access to a vehicle is essential.

The successful applicant will be required to work with the pupil on a one-to-one basis, supporting the child both in and out of the classroom. Due to the child's needs, we are ideally looking for someone who has had experience with children or young people who have Social and Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH) or Special Educational Needs (SEN). A resilient personality and ability to handle challenging behaviour is also necessary.

The role is to start as soon as possible and will be Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.15pm, term time only. The successful candidate must be able to commit to the position, due to the importance of continuity for the pupil.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to either begin a career in the education sector, or to gain further experience.

If you are interested in this position, please contact Verity at Teaching Personnel on 01872 250123 or email a CV and paragraph explaining why you think you might be suitable,
