LSAs & Teaching Assistants required to work with challenging behaviour for Academy in Tooting

A Community Academy in Tooting, South West London (close to Northern line) are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants (LSA's) and Teaching Assistants (TA's) to work with pupils with challenging behaviour and Emotional Behavioural Difficulties. This great school are seeking passionate individuals with experience working with young people in or out of a formal school setting.

Learning Support Assistants (LSA's) and Teaching Assistants (TA's) who are considered for these roles will have desired backgrounds in Sports (coaching), Psychology, Youth Work, Art and Design and Music and training such as Team-teach Positive Intervention is ideal but can also be offered through our agency.

About the school

This school provides education for boys from the age of 5 to 18 who have Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties as outlined in their statement of SEN, or Education, Health and Care Plan.

The school evaluates its effectiveness in accordance with its Assessment for Learning and SEN Policies, benchmarking itself against Ofsted Criteria with regards to Pupil Progress, Teaching and Learning, Behaviour and Safety and Leadership and Management.

The school uses the Nurture Approach to organise learning and support pupils to overcome their barriers to learning. Additional support for pupils with additional learning needs is provided by Teaching Assistants and programmes of intervention, such as Read, Write Inc.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
