- Would suit physically active person - Outdoor learning and play
Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a learning support assistant to work with KS3 students at a pupil referral unit in High Wycombe. This unit is specifically for students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school. The ultimate goal is for staff to assist students with making positive progress towards their education and social skills to encourage the reintegration process back in to school.
This position will be working alongside the class teacher and other TAs in the class to support students with different aspects of their daily routine. There will be an element of classroom learning, using multiple learning portals to ensure all students engage with the curriculum. You will also be required to support students in extra curricular activities and outdoor learning so someone who is personally physically active would be most suitable for this role. All students within this provision have social, emotional and mental health difficulties and may have other associated special needs such as Autism, Tourettes Syndrome and ADHD, therefore, someone with previous experience in a similar role would be desirable. An up to date Team Teach certificate would be beneficial although not essential as long as you are willing to undertake the training. Someone with a confident yet empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs would be right for this role.
If you would like to apply for this role, please contact Jasmine Belcher on 01184672770 or jasmine.belcher@teachingpersonnel.com
