SEMH Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start - Full-Time and Part-Time Roles

An exciting opportunity has arisen for passionate SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a unique alternative education provision in Wareham.

This setting supports children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) as well as additional learning difficulties, providing them with the tools to grow in confidence, resilience and independence.

With four inspiring sites across the area, the provision offers varied learning environments including farms, workshops, classrooms and specialist therapeutic spaces.

Its holistic approach blends academic support with practical and hands-on experiences, helping students reconnect with education in a meaningful way.

 

The Role

We are seeking flexible and committed Teaching Assistants to join the team on both full-time (Monday to Friday) and part-time contracts.

You will support pupils aged 11 to 16, delivering encouragement in Maths and English while also engaging them in outdoor learning, creative projects and life skills activities.

This role is suited to adaptable individuals who thrive in diverse environments and who are committed to making a lasting difference.

 

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or additional needs

  • A flexible, resilient and confident approach in both classroom and outdoor settings

  • A full UK driving licence, due to limited public transport and the need to travel between sites

  • A genuine passion for helping young people develop academically, socially and emotionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
