SEMH Teaching Assistant (Graduate Role) – Temp to Perm
Norwich, Norfolk

The Opportunity
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting students aged 5–16 with additional needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff, you’ll help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally.

This role offers you the opportunity to:

Your Key Responsibilities
Support students with SEMH needs in both academic and emotional development
Build positive, trusting relationships to help students feel safe and regulated
Assist in delivering personalised lesson plans and targeted interventions
Promote positive behaviour strategies and reduce reliance on restrictive interventions
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and specialists to provide consistent support
Contribute to a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

What We’re Looking For
A recent degree in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field
A genuine interest in supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A willingness to learn, reflect, and grow professionally
Experience working or volunteering with children is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
