SEMH Teaching Assistant.
Important information:
- Location: Leyland.
- Start date: Tuesday 2nd January 2024.
- Contract type: Temp-perm.
- Working hours: Full time (8:30am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri).
- Pay rate: £11.85 - £12.50 p/h.
A specialist provision in the Leyland area is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their fantastic team from January 2024! (Start date: Tuesday 2nd January 2024). This provision provides full-time education for pupils aged 4 to 11 years who have struggled to access the curriculum in a mainstream school, and they also offer short-term placements.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant you will be required to provide additional support to pupils in small groups or in some cases, on a 1:1 basis. You must have an understanding of Social, Mental and Emotional Health needs and you must be experienced and confident in facing challenging behaviour.
Requirements:
- Experience/confidence with handling challenging behaviour.
- A genuine passion for working with and supporting pupils with SEMH.
- Able to remain calm in high pressure environments.
- Ability to support pupils on a 1-1 basis as well as in small groups.
- Develop communication and interaction, personal, social, emotional and academic skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
