SEMH Teaching Assistant

Employer: Teaching Personnel, view to go permanent
Pay: £14.25 per hour

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a school in Preston. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils who may display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to help create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Help manage behaviour and support emotional regulation
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support their development
  • Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs
  • Backgrounds in youth work, care, sports coaching, or support work are highly valued
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A patient, resilient and proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
