Teaching Assistants Wanted – SEMH School | Guildford | September Start

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are currently seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Guildford that supports children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic school setting that provides tailored education to pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, while supporting their academic and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students across Key Stages

  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individualised learning plans

  • Helping students regulate behaviour and build positive relationships

  • Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom setting

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH, SEN, or in alternative education settings

  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach

  • Strong behaviour management and resilience

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education

 

Details:

  • Location: Guildford, Surrey

  • Full-time, long-term roles (with potential for permanent placement)

  • Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
