SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Chesterfield
Contract Type: [Full-time/Part-time]
Salary: £85-100 per day
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a school in Chesterfield to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant. This role involves working with Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils in years 7 to 11 who may face various challenges, including autism, ADHD, ODD, and dyslexia.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers to implement tailored strategies for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support pupils on an individual or small group basis, addressing their unique learning requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour management plans.
Requirements:
- Experience working with pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Understanding of autism, ADHD, ODD, and dyslexia, with the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
- Additional training in supporting pupils with SEMH needs is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
