Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference? We are seeking SEMH Teachers to work across a range of specialist schools throughout Surrey, supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver tailored, high-quality education to pupils with complex social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create a positive, supportive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of SEMH pupils

  • Support pupils’ emotional development alongside academic progress

  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies

  • Collaborate with support staff, families, and external agencies to provide holistic support

  • Contribute to assessment, tracking, and reporting pupil progress

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience in SEMH or special educational needs preferred

  • Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and best practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, resilience, and a commitment to inclusive education

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
