Position: SEMH Support Specialist
Location: Huddersfield
Contract: flexible – work around you!
Start Date: January 2024
Salary: £11.85-£13.90 per hour
Role and Responsibilities:
As an SEMH Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing personalised support plans for students with SEMH needs.
- Building strong and positive relationships with students to foster trust and open communication.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a holistic support network.
- Delivering targeted interventions and strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviour.
- Providing a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being.
- Monitoring student progress and adapting support plans as required.
- Offering guidance and training to staff on SEMH best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Hold relevant qualifications and certifications in education or related fields.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of SEMH challenges and effective support strategies.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration.
- Show empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude when working with students.
- Previous experience in supporting students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
