SEMH Education Mentor Opportunity

For several years now we have built a trusting and positive working relationship with a specialist education setting on the outskirts of Reading. They provide a unique service to their all-boy cohort of students, using a bespoke therapeutic approach to engage their learners who have often arrived from disrupted and abusive backgrounds.

The Head Teacher has generated an environment where "students can form fufilling relationships and go on to do so in their lives after leaving". There is also an ethos of empowering their boys to have a say in their own education plans. 

We are currently seeking a male education mentor (GOR) since the nature of the boys' attachments can be unsuitable for female mentors given the risk of inappropriate and unsafe behaviour. This particualr male mentor would be offered a full time post working with the boys often on a 1:1 and small group basis to engage them in thir individual education plans. The male mentor ideally will have a clear working knowledge of how best to support learners with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
