Secondary Supply Teacher

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of Secondary Schools across the Tyne and Wear area, looking for day to day supply staff.

The ideal candidates are Teachers wanting to work part time, retired teachers as well as overseas trained teachers who want to get to know the British system before taking on a full time role.

This is also an ideal way for you to very quickly make a name for yourself in a number of local schools and we often find most long-term and permanent placements come off the back of previous day-to-day bookings. 

Job Duties:

· Supervising the cover work set by the absent Teacher, in some cases marking the work if the role is longer term

· Ensuring the children have the required resources and knowledge to complete the work set by the Teacher

· Managing the behaviour of pupils during the lesson to ensure all work is completed to a high standard

· Being on hand to assist with any question the children may have regarding the work

· Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies

· Collecting completed work after lesson and returning it to the appropriate Teacher

Experience Needed:

· Experience of working as a teacher with QTS in the UK (FE or 11-16 Qualifications)

· Strong classroom presence and ability to manage behaviour as and when needed

· Ability to quickly build a rapport with children, staff and parents

· Bachelor’s Degree/Equivalent (Please note this is desired but not essential)
