Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel’s Northampton Branch are seeking an inspiring and committed individual looking for a rewarding role working as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant.

The School is a purpose built special school for primary aged pupils, who have severe social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEMH) based in Northamptonshire.

Due to the nature of the role we are looking for a patient, caring, individual who has a passion for helping students reach their full potential. The role is specifically dealing with children aged 4-11 who have low confidence and need to overcome barriers and be nurtured into becoming functioning citizens and learners.

To succeed in this role you will need:

• Positive attitude and an ability to work well as part of a team, both in class and at whole school level
• Willingness to contribute to whole school development
• Flexible and adaptable
• Resilient and reflective

Preferred but not essential experience:

• Previous early years/ primary experience preferable
• Previous experience as a special needs teaching assistant
• Willing to adapt to a new challenge everyday
• Supportive and open minded approach to working with special needs children
• Have strong communication skills
