Secondary Mathematics Teacher
Position: Mathematics Teacher (Key Stages 3–4/5)
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Wickford
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed Mathematics Teacher to join our dedicated secondary teaching team. The successful candidate will inspire students, foster a deep understanding of mathematics, and help learners build confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and 5 if applicable)
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative methods
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support academic development
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and enrichment activities
- Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and achievement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development sessions
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related field
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of pedagogical best practice
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners of varying abilities
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom-management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Desirable Attributes
- Experience teaching Mathematics at GCSE and/or A-Level
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
- A reflective practitioner with a passion for continuous improvement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
