An Ofsted graded outstanding secondary school in Rochdale is currently seeking a teacher of Science to join their faculty on a full time basis. This position will initially be until Christmas with the potential to continue for the right Science teacher.

Situated in Milnrow, Rochdale the school is easily accessible via the M62 motorway with a range of public transport links situated outside the school.

  • Full time Science teacher position, starting in September
  • Get paid to scale MPS/UPS (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum)
  • Work in a Science department with an established Head of Science
  • Large Modern building with excellent facilities and large classrooms

The secondary school was established when two local schools collaborated; this brand new build provides exceptional facilities, with a modern Science department for students to thrive in. This is an average sized secondary school with an increase in the cohort of students due to the improvement in their progress and attainment. Located in Rochdale, the school serves a diverse local community with the majority of students being of a Pakistani heritage, therefore the proportion of students that speak English as an additional language is above the national average. Over the recent year's student's progress and attainment has steadily increased which is reflected by the p8 score of 0.17+.

The incoming Science teacher will:

  • Have UK QTS specialising in Science or a similar subject
  • Have previous experience teaching Science up to GCSE
  • Plan and deliver innovative and differentiated lessons to challenge all students
  • Assess students to ensure they are making appropriate progress in Science
  • Liaise with Head of Science on the progress and performance of all students

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
