Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, nurturing and dedicated qualified SEN teacher, who would contribute to the high standards of academic delivery at a SEMH maintained Special School for boys aged 11-16 years. He/she will need to be creative, hardworking and committed to supporting students and families with SEMH.
The Lead Teacher of Science will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Science curriculum at both KS3 and KS4. Lower ability levels may be present in some cases so it would be desirable if you have experience teaching MLD and/or Primary aged students. This role will involve the planning, delivery and assessment of Science and you will oversee the development of literacy across the school. The successful applicant must be flexible in all aspects of their work as they may be required to teach some sessions outside their area of specialism.
Applicant must have experience in teaching students who exhibit emotional and behavioural difficulties as well as ASC and Additional Needs.
Essential qualities for all applicants include:
- Qualified teacher Status
- Experience/training in teaching Science (KS2/KS3/KS4)
- Experience and knowledge of special educational needs and teaching strategies appropriate for students with special educational needs
- Significant emotional resilience and empathy
- Energy, patience, enthusiasm and a sense of humour
