Full-time Science teacher required on a 12 month basis for a co-educational secondary Academy located in Salford from January 2020.

With a member of staff set to take maternity leave after the Christmas break, this mixed comprehensive secondary Academy wish to appoint a skilful Science teacher to join their dedicated staff team.   • Full time Science teacher required to cover a maternity leave, from January 2020.
  • Must hold QTS alongside subject specific degree level qualification or equivalent within a relevant Science.
  • Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply as relevant support and induction will be provided.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £24,373 - £40,490.

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Science teacher due to a restructure amongst senior staff members, which created an influx of demand across the faculty. Noted for the consistent approach to delivering outstanding teaching and learning to pupil's at all individual levels, the school continue o make dramatic progress.

They get down to work quickly and have positive attitudes to learning. They have increasing opportunities to develop themselves as well-rounded individuals" - Ofsted.

The responsibilities for the incoming Science teacher will include;

  • To lead a full time table delivering inventive Science lessons; planning, preparing and evaluating all class work.
  • To effectively teach the National curriculum within school teaching and learning policy.
  • Ensure the development of Schemes of Work, resources, teaching and learning strategies; contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of all pupils.

The school has excellent facilities with just over 900 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. Exam results in the department have continued to improve in recent years with pupils achieving results in line with the national average. The Science department has state of the art facilities and modern resources which can be utilised within the classrooms and practical laboratories.

Located in the Swinton region of Salford, it is easily accessible via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also public transport options within close proximity to the school with links across Greater Manchester.
