Science Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Weymouth
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Are you a passionate Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity from September? Teaching Personnel is working with a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Weymouth that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about inspiring students and helping them develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department and play an important role in supporting students to achieve their academic potential.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.

  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.

  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement.

  • Developing positive relationships with students and colleagues.

  • Working collaboratively with the wider Science department.

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Science Teacher will ideally:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching Science within a secondary school.

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Science.

  • Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Be able to engage, motivate and challenge students.

  • Have a positive, flexible and professional approach.

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
