Science Teacher – Secondary School
Location: Weymouth
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with the potential to become permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
A forward-thinking and supportive secondary school in Weymouth is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and help them develop a love of science in a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are dedicated to delivering high-quality teaching and achieving excellent outcomes for students.
The Role
The successful candidate will:

Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with a range of abilities.

Assess, monitor and support student progress to maximise achievement.

Contribute positively to the wider Science department and school community.

Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive classroom environment where students can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate
-
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Has experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school.

Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.

Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to helping students succeed.

Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
