Science Teacher – Secondary School
Location: Weymouth
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with the potential to become permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

A forward-thinking and supportive secondary school in Weymouth is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and help them develop a love of science in a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are dedicated to delivering high-quality teaching and achieving excellent outcomes for students.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with a range of abilities.

  • Assess, monitor and support student progress to maximise achievement.

  • Contribute positively to the wider Science department and school community.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive classroom environment where students can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school.

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.

  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to helping students succeed.

  • Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
