Job description

Science Teacher (Full-Time, Temporary with Potential Extension)
Location: Westbury Area
Start Date: January
Contract: January–Easter (with potential to extend to July)

A well-regarded secondary school in the Westbury area is seeking an enthusiastic and confident Science Teacher to join their team from January. This full-time position will initially run until the Easter break, with the strong possibility of extension through to the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will primarily teach Key Stage 3 Science, with some Key Stage 4 classes potentially included. While no specific science specialism is required, the ability to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE level is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective science lessons across KS3 and potentially KS4
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and create an inclusive, positive learning environment
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across all three science disciplines
  • Contribute proactively to the department and wider school community

  • Proactive, flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the department
  • Committed to supporting student progress and fostering a love of science

This role would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs with the confidence to teach all sciences to GCSE level.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
