Job description

Science Teacher – Secondary School (Preston)

Start Date: 23rd February
Contract: Until the end of the academic year (minimum, with strong potential to extend)
Location: Preston
Hours: Full‑time
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

A supportive and forward‑thinking secondary school in Preston is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join their team from 23rd February through to at least the end of the academic year.

About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high‑quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, contributing to a well‑established Science department. You will inspire pupils, support their progress, and help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons across the Science curriculum
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress
  • Create a supportive classroom environment where all students can achieve
  • Contribute to department planning and development
  • Support with intervention sessions where required
  • Uphold school policies and promote high standards of behaviour and engagement

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
  • Ability to teach across KS3 and KS4
  • Passionate about inspiring young people through Science
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
