Job description

A welcoming and high-achieving mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking to appoint a fully qualified Science Teacher to join their successful department on a full-time basis from Easter 2026.

The Role:

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience would be advantageous but is not essential).

  • Plan, prepare and assess in line with national curriculum requirements.

  • Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Contribute to the continued development of the Science curriculum.

  • Play an active role in the wider life of the school.

The Ideal Candidate:

The school is looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

  • Has strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills.

  • Has a clear commitment to raising achievement and maintaining high expectations.

  • Works well as part of a team and is keen to contribute positively to department initiatives.

Both experienced teachers and strong Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply. The school offers a supportive induction programme and ongoing CPD opportunities to ensure staff continue to grow and thrive in their careers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
