Science Teacher
Job description
We are currently recruiting for a passionate Science Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Saddleworth, Oldham. This is an excellent opportunity to teach across all three sciences – Biology, Chemistry, and Physics – to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, practical lessons that inspire students to develop a love for the subject. You will create a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking and hands-on exploration of scientific concepts. The role provides the opportunity to work within a supportive department that values collaborative teaching and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

Develop and deliver engaging and practical lessons that cater to all learning styles

Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance students' understanding

Track student progress and provide tailored feedback and support

Prepare students for their GCSE exams and coursework
-
Participate in the development of new curriculum resources

Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, clubs, and events
Essential Criteria:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
A degree in a Science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Science

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts
-
Ability to engage and inspire students in all aspects of Science education
-
Previous experience teaching GCSE Science (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
