Science Teacher – Secondary School | Newcastle upon Tyne
Employer: Teaching Personnel
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: £30,000 – £46,525 per annum (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to inspiring young people and delivering high-quality science education across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess coursework and examinations in line with the national curriculum.
  • Support students of varying abilities, ensuring all pupils are motivated and challenged.
  • Collaborate with the department and wider school staff to maintain high academic standards.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (placements considered for ECTs).
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
