Job description

We are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision, supporting pupils who benefit from a nurturing, structured, and relationship-led approach to learning.

This role is ideal for a teacher who understands that behaviour is communication and is confident in using positive behaviour strategies to help pupils re-engage with education. You will deliver engaging Science lessons tailored to individual needs, helping students build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of achievement.

You’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team that places strong emphasis on consistency, clear boundaries, and emotional wellbeing, creating a safe environment where pupils can thrive both academically and socially.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be passionate about teaching Science within a SEMH setting

  • Have strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach

  • Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of emotional and learning needs

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and pastoral teams

This role would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT with a strong interest in SEMH and inclusive education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
