Job description

Science Teacher – County Durham Secondary School

September 2026 start, full time, excellent opportunity for experienced teachers and ECTs.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Science Teacher for a well regarded secondary school in County Durham. This is a full time position starting September 2026, ideal for passionate educators who want to inspire the next generation of scientists.

The school offers a supportive environment with strong leadership, excellent resources, and a commitment to staff development. You'll teach across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry or Physics to students of varying abilities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering high quality, engaging lessons
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Working collaboratively with the Science department
  • Contributing to the wider school community

You need:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Degree in a Science related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level (or ECT ready to start)
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress
