Are you an outstanding Science teacher with a proven track record of delivering high-quality lessons and raising student achievement? We’re working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school on the East side of Birmingham that is seeking a high-calibre Science teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is more than just a teaching role. The school is actively looking for someone who can contribute strategically to the development of the Science department, and there is potential for progression into a leadership role, such as Head of Department, in the near future for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver outstanding Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)

Inspire, challenge and support pupils of all abilities to achieve their potential
-
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
-
Monitor and assess student progress, implementing interventions where needed
-
Lead by example in your teaching practice and departmental collaboration
-
Support wider school initiatives, enrichment, and whole-school improvement
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
-
A strong academic background in Science with specialist knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
-
A minimum of 3 years' experience teaching Science in UK secondary schools
-
Evidence of excellent outcomes and student progress
-
Experience mentoring colleagues or contributing to departmental leadership (desirable)
-
A clear ambition to progress in your career, with a vision for raising standards across the department

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
