Science Teacher - Bolton
Science teacher required for a 'Good' graded mixed comprehensive Secondary school that is now pushing for 'Outstanding' in the area of Bolton. The Secondary school wish to appoint a full-time Science teacher in January 2019 in order to fill a vacant teaching position within the schools Science department.
- Full-time Science teaching position - January 2019
- Average sized 'Good' graded Bolton based Secondary school
- Pay in line with MPS and UPS Scale - £23,720 - £39,406 per annum
- Must hold QTS specialising in either Chemistry, Physics or Biology
In order to be considered for this Science teaching position, you must have experience teaching Chemistry, Biology or Physics at GCSE level and it would be beneficial in support of your application if you are able to teach another subject area at KS3 level.
The Head of Science has outlined the following objectives that Science teachers employed by the school should follow;
"We aim to give students a broad knowledge of Science in the world around them. To make Science an enjoyable and inspirational subject that captures lifelong interest whilst ensuring that students have the knowledge and understanding not only to pass their GCSE but also to appreciate Science in the wider world."
With this in mind it is crucial that you are able to deliver dynamic Science lessons to students across the age and ability range in a way which will inspire learning and create subject enthusiasm amongst your pupils. You must be able to carefully plan and prepare interactive and engaging Science lessons in line with schools curriculum to ensure that your pupils are achieving their target grades and more.
The school is average in size with roughly 1030 pupils on roll, pupil behaviour was highlighted as 'Good' within the schools most recent Ofsted and this is a true reflection in most cases.
Located on the outskirts of Farnworth this school is just a 5 minute drive away from the m61 and is easily accessible via public transport from the surrounding areas; Salford, Bury, Chorley and Manchester.
